EL ASTILLERO
El Astillero is a small fishing village with a beautiful beach in Chacocente. They are currently working to extend their tourism services to provide a tourism information center in the area in order to attract more visitors. This project can help those planning this tourism extension by providing them with ideas for information to offer to tourists.

COSETUCHACO
A tourism organization that provides a wide range of guided outdoor activities. They include turtle watching beach tours, wild life sightings, excursions to Los Tres Sombreros and El Guapinol. Cosetuachaco also takes tourists to the hot water springs of the Escalante river, where tourists can go bird and monkey watching. There’s also a tour that takes visitors to see the local beekeepers and taste their delicious organic honey.

An American Christian organization that operates in rural Chacocente and the surrounding regions. It’s unique in that it approaches community development in a holistic manner. The organization relocates families from the city dumps, and works with them for five years to improve their situation. It does this by teaching them the skills necessary to live independently. Project Chacocente focuses on housing, food, education, health, job training, farming and personal development.
